About the opportunity
The Gisborne i-SITE Visitor Information Centre is the first point of contact for many who journey to Tairāwhiti. First impressions count, so we are looking for a customer service superstar! Someone ready to give a warm welcome and connect visitors to the best experiences Tairāwhiti Gisborne has to offer.
This full-time role will require weekend work and work on public holidays. Hours worked are between 8am to 5.30pm, in line with the approved roster.
You will have excellent local knowledge, be passionate about our region and its people. You will be excited to promote everything from our walks and wineries, beaches and bike trails to our unique culture, history including premium tourism products.
Ideally, you will hold or be working towards a relevant tourism qualification, have previous customer service work experience and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will also have a current clean NZ drivers' licence and a strong customer service work ethic.
You will be proficient in using Microsoft applications, with the ability to pick up new computer and ticketing systems quickly.
You will value the cultural identity of Tairāwhiti, including an ability to understand or desire to learn te reo Māori me ona tikanga.
