Trust Tairāwhiti is the regional community trust, with a strategic focus on economic development, community initiatives and investments that support the wellbeing of our people and place.
The Trust Deed defines our two central objectives – to preserve Trust capital and to provide for beneficiaries (the people of Tairāwhiti). Our wellbeing framework, He Rangitapu He Tohu ora guides Trust distributions, investments and operations to ensure they deliver meaningful outcomes for Tairāwhiti.
We are also the regional Economic Development Agency and Regional Tourism Organisation under a funding partnership with Gisborne District Council.

Business growth
The Trust’s Feasibility Fund enables research to assess the viability and potential success of projects that aspire to benefit communities and economic growth in Tairāwhiti.
It supports entrepreneurs, businesses, and innovators to develop feasibility studies, or business cases to determine investment potential. Projects should aim to attract investment from both the Government and private sector, studying new and emerging opportunities. Please note this fund is solely for research and feasibility purposes and can’t be used for any operational or capital expenditure.
