The RBP Network is funded through the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) and delivered by Trust Tairāwhiti.
The team"s Business Growth Advisors pictured above, Ryan Christison, Malcolm Mersham and Wendy Gatley utilised the Business Advisory Fund to implement RBP COVID 19 Response and Recovery support to local business owners through the challenging economic effects of COVID 19.
This funding has been used in the region to connect firms to expert advice at no cost to the business. Topics like business strategy, finance and cashflow, continuity"planning, HR and employment relations, digital services, marketing and health and wellness are covered.
The Business Growth Advisors supported around"400 local businesses in the period from April " November 2020.
Two major themes have emerged in Tairāwhiti."
Firstly, many businesses needed advice with cashflow and required assistance with revising cashflow forecasts.
Secondly, many employers had to deal with changes to working conditions and restructuring employment contracts.
With this, the RBP programme offered advice and support that was timely, relevant and helpful.
Though targeted government financing for the COVID-specific initiative has finished, the RBP Business Growth Advisors will continue to support local businesses.
