Join a practical breakfast session exploring lessons from the Te Arai Catchment Pilot and how land-use risk mapping, farm-level ground-truthing, catchment planning and business analysis can support better decisions for landowners, advisors and catchment partners in Tairāwhiti.
Land-use decisions are becoming increasingly important as the region responds to erosion risk, catchment resilience and future regulatory settings. This session will share how local landowners, advisors and partners are working through these issues in the Te Arai catchment.
The session will cover upper and lower catchment initiatives, farm case studies and planning for the transition of Land Overlay 3B land. There will also be time for questions and discussion with people involved in the pilot.
Presented by the Te Arai Community Catchment Group, Gisborne District Council, Perrin Ag Consultants, Trust Tairāwhiti and MPI On Farm Support.
