In the latest Trust Tairāwhiti funding round, four organisations were supported with distributions totalling $100k.
Education Partnership and Innovation Trust (EPIT) are the largest recipient this round, receiving $45k for a Strategic Careers Leadership programme for Tairāwhiti secondary schools.
The initiative helps schools develop a clear transition and careers strategy and a three-year roadmap aligned to each school’s vision, curriculum, local partnerships and whānau engagement. It shifts careers education from a single staff member to a whole-school approach, with a focus on Māori, Pacific and priority learners to improve long-term wellbeing and outcomes across the region. EPIT will also support schools to implement the programme.
Manaaki Matakaoa and Te Aroha Kanarahi Trust will each receive $15k to support restoration and community response efforts throughout Matakaoa following the recent weather events.
Feasibility fund recipient:
- MIO Energy Limited - $25k towards a feasibility study for the Tairāwhiti Biogas Development project. The study will assess whether locally available organic material can support a commercially viable, regionally scaled biogas supply.
All successful funding applications aligned strongly with the Trust’s wellbeing framework, He Rangitapu He Tohu Ora.
